This handmade 925 silver pendant, this beautiful and unique opal pendant has a lovely design of sandstone layers with an opal top, this opal is only in the top light section with flashes of pin fire red and some green. This handmade opal pendant is wrapped in 925 silver with a silver handmade bail. The base tone of the opal stone is brown with a soft pink hue that sparkles in natural light making it an interesting piece of jewellery.

Opal is a natural stone with a hardness of 5.5 - 6.5 on the mohs scale, making it a similar hardness to glass. Composed of hydrated silica, their significant water content is part of what makes them delicate stones.
Opal is generally stable, and although it can be affected by heat from intense light which can cause fracture lines called “crazing.” we take every care to use only stones that are less susceptible to damage, any stone that has weakness is not used in our jewellery.
